About Qwibil
The Puyallup Tribe of Indians opened Qwibil, Inc. – A Natural Healing, Consultation and Research Clinic, in October 2018 with a staff of knowledgeable specialists who can discuss and advise patients on the use of cannabis as medicine and related products. At the same time, Qwibil entered into a partnership with Washington State University Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine for medical cannabis research with the outcome goal to answer questions regarding the health, safety and efficacy associated with using cannabis as medicine.
While Qwibil Natural Healing Clinic will see and potentially treat patients with a variety of conditions, our first research collaboration will focus on tapering opioid use by using cannabis as medicine. A major emphasis of this research is in the potential of cannabis to treat and mitigate opioid addiction and dependency. Recent studies have shown that in states with legal marijuana there has been lowered opioid use, and that medical cannabis relieves chronic pain and reduces opioid use. This is particularly significant as the Puyallup Tribe has made the opioid crisis a top priority and is committed to using its expertise and resources to combat the epidemic. We are confident that there is great potential for Qwibil to make a significant difference in the lives of our patients and in the overall health of our community.
In the future, we hope to offer medical cannabis through our Nature+ Pharmacy also at 3700 Pacific Hwy E., in Fife Washington. Nature+ Pharmacy would offer supplements and natural healing products you would find in any natural medicine clinic, but also medical cannabis and CBD Products. As Qwibil, researches a solid path for cannabis as medicine, we also hope to begin a very modest, pharmaceutical-grade, pesticide-free organic cannabis cultivation program for research and development. We envision a future where the cultivation and dispensing of the finest quality medical cannabis in Washington State allows Qwibil to make a substantial investment in the economic and social life of the Puyallup Tribe, while diversifying its economic base, and where all Tribal members who need it can access the highest quality medicinal cannabis in a dignified and respectful environment with highly skilled medical professionals and scientists.
