Sonny J. Elliott Sr. has been the Chairman for the Hopland Band of Pomo Indians, located in Northern California, for the past 6 years and served as the Vice Chairman for 2 years prior to that. He also serves as the Chairman of the Board for the Hopland Economic Development Corporation (HEDCO), a section 17 tribally chartered corporation.  Before getting elected to serve on Tribal Council, Chairman Elliott worked as an Environmental Director for 8 years. He earned his degree in Horticulture and from 2018-2021 and helped his Tribe run a licensed cannabis operation in Mendocino County Ca. Chairman Elliott’s understanding and knowledge of the cannabis industry within California’s Indian Country has been extensive.
