Behavioral Health Division Director | The Ho-Chunk Nation

Ruth Garvin, Sac and Fox Nation of Oklahoma, is the Interim Behavioral Health Division Director with the Ho-chunk Nation Department of Health in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. She has worked in various Human Services, Social Services and Behavioral Health services in administration, managerial, program development, prevention, and as a dual diagnosis clinician over 30+ years. Her focus has been in program development and identifying appropriate curriculum identified to work with the Native American population in providing mental health and substance use services. Aspects of her work include providing clinical supervision to substance abuse counselors and further identifying needs for professional development and cultural awareness through connections within the Ho-chunk Nation. Her career goal has been to increase connections between Behavioral Health and the Ho-chunk Nation community, and other entities who provide services and care to its Ho-chunk members, other Native Nation members and their families.
