Denise Abrahamson is a proud enrolled citizen of the Spokane Tribe, and she is honored to use her education and values to serve her people as the Director of Human Resources for Spokane Tribal Enterprises. She received her bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University and has successfully built the Spokane Tribal Enterprises HR department from the ground up. Denise is motivated to assist in raising the company even further. Her team credits her for being supportive, understanding, and action-oriented. Through her leadership in the organization, employee retention, as well as promotion from within, have become a standard. Being a positive and active member of the Tribe and the greater community is very important to Denise. Her tight-knit family, made up of her husband, five children and nine grandchildren, are key motivators and examples of Denise’s ability to build positive relationships. Denise models the behavior of building positive relationships for future generations.

 

Denise’s goal is to create a work environment that is successful, happy, and family-oriented. She believes training should be viewed as a benefit, not a punishment, and that personal growth is the key to success in individuals and businesses. Denise hopes to create a training department that focuses not only on its employees but also on the surrounding community members to empower and uplift them professionally. Under Denise’s leadership, the Spokane Tribal Enterprises HR department views individuals as human, taking time to help candidates from all backgrounds begin anew. Denise believes the people you take a chance on will become the most loyal. She is motivated to help others push themselves to grow and loves seeing them believe in themselves.
