Chief Operations Officer, Hospitality | Yaamava' Resort and Casino

David Kopasz has over thirty years of leadership and hospitality experience, including his tenure as a leader at Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel beginning in 2015. As the Chief Operations Officer of Hospitality, David leads hospitality operations including resort, food and beverage, facilities, and retail.

His foundation of excellence began while he served in the United Sates Navy as a Food Service Specialist on the USS Waddell DDG-24. David earned an Expeditionary Medal and Letter of Commendation for outstanding performance.

David also has a commitment to lifelong learning; he holds a Bachelor of Science in Food Systems Management from Buffalo State College of New York, and an Associates of Applied Science in Food Service & Restaurant Management from Erie Community College.

David dedicates personal time to support impactful causes. As a team member of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, David is empowered to continue his community involvement in various capacities.

David maintains leadership positions with community organizations, including the Board of Advisors for the Buffalo State College Hospitality and Tourism Program, the Advisory Board of the NCCC Culinary Institute, the Board of Directors of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Board of Directors for the Buffalo State College Alumni Association.
