Bryan Schuler is the Vice President for Housing Development at Travois, a Certified B Corporation focused exclusively on promoting housing and economic development for American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian communities. Bryan manages the company’s nationwide portfolio of 200+ Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) projects and helps clients to implement strategies to finance new projects. He guides the Travois development, asset management and compliance teams who work closely with tribes and tribal housing authorities to apply for and receive funding to build and rehabilitate critically needed housing — from initial planning, to application, to closing with an investor and on to closeout and ongoing operations. He also manages and cultivates Travois’ relationships with equity investors who are interested in pursuing tribal LIHTC projects and with state housing agencies that determine tax credit awards. With 16+ years in the affordable housing industry, Bryan is a frequent speaker at conferences and trainings. He has been an advisory board member for Native Nation Events since 2017. Bryan received a bachelor’s degree in cognitive science from the University of Virginia.
