Amelia Wright is the Cannabis Program Director at the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. She is responsible for statewide implementation of scientific and administrative operations and policy. She previously served as the Northern District Program Manager at the California Department of Food & Agriculture where she led a multidisciplinary team in the protection of California agriculture from invasive pests and diseases. Her contributions to California’s cannabis regulatory framework began after the passage of Proposition 64. First, at the California Department of Public Health, she created and implemented regulations for cannabis laboratory licensing and testing requirements for consumer protections. Next, she oversaw compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act at the Bureau of Cannabis Control. Wright received her juris doctor degree from the McGeorge School of Law.
