About FreshAir Sensors
FreshAir Smoking Sensors was founded in 2013 based on proprietary technology developed at Dartmouth College through grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), among others. The company empowers hotels to immediately detect and stop marijuana and tobacco smoking violations, charge cleaning fees with scientific proof of each incident (regardless of physical evidence being left by guests), and win chargebacks, all while reducing cleaning costs, property damages, rooms taken out of inventory, negative guest satisfaction and subsequent reviews, and guest and employee exposure to second and thirdhand smoke.
FreshAir’s Wi-Fi enabled detection devices and monitoring services are widely deployed in hotels to both detect and prove smoking, as well as certify no-smoking environments.
When a guest begins to smoke, FreshAir sends the hotel’s staff a discreet alert with the location of the violation. In addition, a timestamped report of the violation is logged in the hotel’s online portal, giving them the scientific proof needed to enforce their no-smoking policies. Credit card firms accept FreshAir’s evidence of smoking and the company is highly successful in supporting hotels with contested charges for smoking fees.
FreshAir’s devices can be locked to outlets or hardwired. They are not fooled by candles, burned food, shower steam, or other typical excuses from smokers.
