Whittney LaCroix (Sicangu Lakota) is a patient-focused visionary and trailblazer in Indigenous healthcare. Currently serving as Chief Nursing Officer at Tribal Health, LaCroix leads nursing operations in addition to providing direct supervision and oversight to three Emergency Department practice management sites.Previously LaCroix served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Rosebud Indian Health Service (IHS) Unit and Director of Nursing of the White River Health Care Center, where she led efforts that earned a 5-star quality rating by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) and a zero-deficiency survey from the South Dakota Department of Health. Inpatient and Labor and Delivery Supervisor. Recognized for her clinical versatility, dedication, and groundbreaking leadership, she has developed clinical programs for Native American communities across a variety of disciplines, including emergency medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics, elder care, and long-term care.

 

Whittney holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Dakota. In 2022, she was named one of SIA’s Global Power 150 Women in Staffing.
