Dr. Shawn Singh Sidhu is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of California San Diego where he serves as Director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program. Dr. Sidhu has been working with American Indian/Alaska Native youth and families for 10 years. He is Co-Director of the Native American SmartCare Program, a California Area Indian Health Services funded child psychiatry consultation program that is free to tribal healthcare sites. He is also an on-site child psychiatrist at Southern Indian Health Council, serving the Kumeyaay Nation. Previously, he worked at the Indian Health Services TeleBehavioral Health Center of Excellence, and on reservation for school and home visiting programs. He is very grateful for the opportunity to learn from American Indian and Alaska Native populations, and for the warm welcome that he has received from his patients, clients, and tribal health center colleagues.
