Michael Macias, born and raised in Long Beach, California, is an inspiring and dedicated community leader. He is the CEO of CCAT security, founder of Have A Sweet High and Peligroso Exotics, and a finalist for a store-front Dispensary. Michael is a passionate advocate for natural alternatives to pain medication, with a deep understanding of the issues patients face. He has 8+ years of experience in cannabis and security operations, and his hard work and dedication were recognized by President Barack Obama when he was awarded the Presidential Volunteer Service Award in 2012.

Michael attended Los Medanos College, where he obtained multiple associate degrees, including Behavioral Science, Anthropology, and Administration of Justice. He then pursued his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at California State University of Sacramento. Michael’s personal experience with serious health issues led him to discover the benefits of cannabis as a natural alternative. As a result, he received a specialty in Medical Cannabis from the University of Boulder Colorado, with certifications in Medical Cannabis for Chronic Pain, Mental Health, and Brain Disorders.

Michael is committed to dedicating the rest of his life to bringing positive changes to his community, and he works with multiple social equity cannabis programs throughout the state of California. Michael also advocates at a state level, speaking in Senate committees regarding social equity and security cannabis-related bills. With his experience and expertise, he aims to provide education and support to those who seek natural alternatives to pain medication by expanding cannabis programs in multiple cities, states, and now hopefully tribes.
