
Lavita Hill
Treasury Specialist | Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians
Lavita Hill is an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) who lives on her family’s ancestral lands in the Big Cove Community in Cherokee, North Carolina. Hill graduated from Cherokee High School and went to Western Carolina University, where she graduated with a BS in Business Administration, becoming the first person in her household to obtain a four-year degree. She has served a variety of roles in the Tribal government over the last twenty years, and she currently serves as the Treasury Specialist for the Tribal government in the Office of Budget and Finance, where she works with Tribal youth to teach financial skills and administers Tribal investment accounts. She lives with her husband, youngest son and has two grown children who are enjoying life and “adulting.” She is grateful to represent the EBCI, especially in a capacity that will have an everlasting impact on our community.
