Chad Dixson

MIS/Network Manager | Yavapai Prescott Indian Tribe

Chad Dixson is a twenty-five-year veteran of IT. The last fifteen years he has served as the Tribal Government MIS Manager at the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe (YPIT), located in Northern Arizona. Chad leads a small but dedicated team who continuously strive to improve the Tribe’s security posture, increase efficiencies, and deliver robust technical solutions for the Tribes administrative and enterprise staff members.

Over the years, Chad has successfully navigated the challenges found throughout the IT landscape including a ransomware attack and remediation in the Fall of 2020. He describes the ransomware incident as both “the worst and best day of my career” in reference to the devastation the attack had on his organization and the tremendous learning experience and subsequent security improvements YPIT made following the event.

Away from IT, Chad enjoys the scenic beauty and “dry heat” of Arizona and the greater Southwest region. His current favorite pastime is spending weekends enjoying the Colorado river and, about once a month, being the front man for a local pop-punk-rock cover band. Chad is also known for his participation, as conference emcee, for the annual TribalNet Conference and Tradeshow.
